In the glittering social whirl of 1950s London, Jimmy B. is the consummate charmer, captivating a parade of handsome young men at the city's exclusive coming-out parties and balls. But when Jimmy lays eyes on a striking blonde stranger across a crowded dance floor, he finds himself unexpectedly smitten.
His friend Guy reveals the object of Jimmy's affection is Douglas Knight, a captivating American who has just arrived in the city. Normally bold and confident, Jimmy is suddenly rendered shy and hesitant in Douglas' presence. Yet, despite his uncharacteristic nervousness, Jimmy is determined to pursue this alluring newcomer.
As Jimmy and Douglas are drawn into a passionate romance, their friends watch, amused that the rapacious and voracious Jimmy B. has finally fallen under the spell of love. Recognizing the depth of Jimmy's feelings, his friends conspire to help him meet the man of his dreams.
To their delight, it is an unexpected encounter with a work of art that brings Jimmy and Douglas even closer, igniting a connection that goes beyond the physical and into the realm of the profound. For Jimmy, this is no mere passing fancy - it is the beginning of a love that will forever alter the course of his life.
