When reality unravels, the monsters you create may be more real than you think…

What would you do if the world around you crumbled—and the villains you invented came to life?

Jake, once a rising star in the literary world, is now a man on the edge of madness. His mother’s death shattered him, grief clouding his every thought. Then came the rejections, each one a stab to his pride and sanity. But it was the ultimate betrayal that broke him—his trusted agent, Mark, twisted his words, stole his ideas, and took everything from him. The pain of betrayal has unlocked something dark within Jake.

Now, the characters he created—once confined to the pages of his stories—are haunting his every waking moment. Victor Black, the cold-blooded villain. The Butcher, pure evil incarnate. Eliza Nightshade, deadly and seductive. The eerie Twins, laughing in the shadows. And Mr. Snuggles, the sarcastic talking cat, now a chilling figure of Jake's spiraling mind, stalking him with yellow eyes and a grin that promises terror.

But these aren’t just figments of his imagination anymore…They’re real.

And they want something from him.

This book is written excellently. There may be moments of cliché descriptions harking park to earlier serial killers, but this book is far more than that. The author manages to control Jake, who is the main character very well. Jake is accompanied by a number of other characters, who lie deep inside him, but more often than not are less deep than what Jake would have wanted. The twins were my particular favourite.
I would ask anyone interested in a well written book to give this book and author a chance. It's very well narrated and very well written and worded.
I look forward to more.

Disturbingly great story.
