This is the definitive behind-the-scenes account of Capcom's horror video game series Resident Evil - one of the most popular, innovative, and widely influential franchises of all time.

Industry expert Alex Aniel spent two years interviewing key former members of Capcom staff, allowing him to tell the inside story of how Resident Evil was envisioned as early as the late 1980s, how its unexpected and unprecedented success saved the company from financial trouble, how the series struggled at the turn of the century, and, eventually, how a new generation of creators was born after the release of Resident Evil 4.

Itchy, Tasty narrates the development of each Resident Evil game released between 1996 and 2006, interspersed with fascinating commentary from the game creators themselves, offering unique insight into how the series became the world-conquering franchise it is today.

I love Resident Evil, and have listened twice now. So much information, but never feels overwhelming.

Very enjoyable indeed.

This book would make for a hell of a drinking game. Take a shot everytime the narrator makes a bizarre naming mistake.
Remember Laura Croft from Tomb Raider?
How About Jet Grind Radio?
Did you own a GameTube?
Are you a fan of ComCaps Resident evil series?... and those are just one ones I remember.

Considering how often the book points out the iffy dialogue and translations throughout the early RE series, I honestly think it's trolling me. How else could you randomly just mix up names you say correctly 90% of the time.

Outside of that it's worth a listen for a fan. I learned some stuff I didn't know before and it covers all the major RE titles from PS1 to RE4 on GameTube.

Worth a listen for a fan. But nothing amazing.
