Many non-Muslims have no idea that Muslims worship the same God as Christians and Jews, and that Islam preaches compassion, charity, humility, and the brotherhood of man. And the similarities don't end there. According to Islamic teaching, Muhammad founded Islam in 610 CE after the angel Gabriel appeared to him at Mecca and told him that God had entered him among the ranks of such great biblical prophets as Abraham, Moses, and Christ.

From the Qur'an to Ramadan, Islam for Dummies introduces you to the origins, practices, and beliefs of Islam, including: Muhammad, the man and the legend; the Five Pillars of Wisdom; the Five Essentials beliefs of Islam; the different branches of Islam and Islamic sects; the Qur'an and Islamic law; and Islam throughout history and its impact around the world.

Professor Malcolm Clark explores the roots of Islam, how it has developed over the centuries, and its long and complex relationship with Christianity. He helps puts Islam in perspective as a major cultural and geopolitical force.

If you want to read just one book to get a very good introduction to the world of Islam, it is this book you must read.

Very balanced and unbiased, considering how short this book is it is, surprisingly, very comprehensive. You will not be left with a feeling of gaps in your knowledge of Islam after you have finished reading this book.

A great read; too great to be ignored by serious readers wishing to enhance their knowledge about the world of Islam.

A Great Introduction to the World of Islam

You have to go and find the information as the author skips over details in the first part of the book.
For example he mentions the angel Gabriel speaking to Mohamed but does not go into detail about the faith at that point. I found this very frustrating and had to fast forward several chapters as I wanted to learn about the beliefs.
The narrators style is lack lustre and mono tone.
But the hard copy book not this audio version

Nonsensical book layout

As a person who didn’t know much about Islam, this book is very enlightening and covers a lot of things. The performance was a bit robotic at first but it got better as it progressed. It’s a great book to learn about Islam.

It’s amazing

I'm sure the paper version of the book would be interesting, but the audible version is tedious to listen to. read like a machine.
