From New York Times best-selling author Mary Balogh comes the third novel in the Horsemen Trilogy, in which a proper English lady discovers how desirable she really is after one very improper night....

Sophia Armitage does not consider herself attractive. Even her late husband treated her more as a companion than a lover when she accompanied him to war. But Sophia hopes to enjoy a Season in London as her niece makes her social debut - until, that is, her hopes are dashed when she is faced with a threat she can reveal to no one.

Then she meets Sir Nathaniel Gascoigne, an old army friend, and falls in love with him even as she must discourage his growing passion for her. Nathaniel can sense Sophia's unhappiness and fear, but does not understand that his attempts to protect and help her can only bring about her downfall....

En alakalı
Though there are four "horsemen of the apocalypse", the first two get their own story and last two have to share.
However, this is a better solution than ruining the series.
So all the major characters play prominent roles and the secondary characters pop up, with few new ones.
It is better to read all three stories in order, they can be read separately, but vital sub-plots are missed.

Good end of series

This has been my favourite of the trilogy, even though I enjoyed them all. The narration was excellent as always. All well worth a listen

I had a wonderful time listening to this story and to continue in the saga :-)

Beautifully narrated….

I enjoyed the plot ….

Rosalind Landor reads well but the heroine is ridiculously stupid and neither she nor the hero ever say the right thing at the right time. The nub of the plot is believable to a degree but the way it was handled by the heroine is not. For a supposedly independent, mature woman, she displayed the emotional maturity of a silly schoolgirl.

Tortured and tortuous
