The time has come for Roiben's coronation, and pixie Kaye is sure of one thing – she loves him. When she declares herself to Roiben during the celebration, he's forced to send her on a seemingly impossible quest to find a faerie who can tell a lie.

But Kaye's adventure soon leads to danger when she finds herself caught up in the games of the Seelie Court. Queen Silarial wants Roiben's throne, and she will use any means necessary to get it. Can a pixie outplay a queen?

'Decadent and deadly, the urban fantasy setting is not for the faint of heart; the cruelties of even the so-called good faeries are breathtaking. Fans of faerypunk will eat it up.' (Kirkus Reviews)
'Essential for fans of Tithe , this tale of tough yet romantic punks and misfits, both human and faerie, is told in an authentic street voice.' (School Library Journal)
'The chilling game of wits culminates in a satisfying conclusion to this dark, edgy fantasy, a must-purchase for Black’s many devoted fans.' (Booklist)

So annoyingly the first book in this 2 book series is not available on Audible, but I found it at my local library. I highly recommend listening to Tithe first. I enjoyed this - Holly Black is a favorite of mine. It’s interesting how this early book - set in the same world as the Cruel Prince series - while engaging is MUCH less sophisticated than that series. It’s really interesting how much she has grown as a writer and how much more advanced her twists and turns have become. The narrator is mainly good - though why she’s given all the Fae a Shrek-style Scottish accent remains a mystery…

Enjoyable early work of Holly Black

Book 3 Ironside by the awesome author Holly Black. I have finished all the ELFHAME series's & all the extras that go along side with them. I have loved every minute of it 🤩💖 I'm now about to start another series of Holly Black's (which I have read in kindle & loved 😍) she did this series along with another author that I adore called Cassandra Claire called The Magisteruim: The Iron Trial & I can't wait to listen to it in audio 📖📚😍😍🥰❤️
