I’m king of the criminal underworld. I always get what I want. And she’s my obsession. Cora is new to the city of sin. Her innocent blue eyes beg for me to claim her. But I’m not the billionaire she thinks I am. There’s a darkness within me. And Cora is a shining light. She’s beautiful. A virgin. I’m ruthless. A beast. She found me for a reason. She’ll be my queen. I’ll give her everything that her heart desires. Except for one thing. Her freedom. She’s mine to keep, and I’m never letting her go.

Note: This is a dark mafia romance with dark and intense sensual scenes. It is the first in a trilogy.

Cora believe that Marcus is there to help and save her. Marcus is a man that gets what he want and he wanted Cora. She finds out slowly that Marcus controls everything and nothing was as she thought. A great Dark Mafia Romance and Jack Calihan did a great job in narrating this story,

I really enjoyed listening to the story of Cora and Marcus. There were a lot of instances where Cora was very naive and I found myself yelling at her “no, no” but I understand the importance of that to the story. On the flip side, I appreciated her naivety because I think there is a lot more to Marcus then the dark and angry side that he shows most of the time. Without her being willing to see the bright side of things, I don’t think she would have been able to pull Marcus out of his shell as much as she did.

This is a good dark romance if that is what you are looking for, there is a very dark side that Marcus holds just below the surface.

The narrator did a good job at bringing the characters to life, but I would have LOVED to have dual narration for this. I have already started the second book, and I am excited to see where it goes. I am grateful I was able to start the second one so soon because the ending of this was a bit of a cliff hanger.

This book was written for Jack to narrate. Absolutely fantastic storyline with a tough Alpha and great chemistry. As you can tell I am a fan of Jack’s and I have previously read the ebook of Innocence but Jack brings the characters alive so very well. I’m hoping that you get to narrate the rest of the books in this series.

Oh Jack is perfect
