Secrets and Spies is a series of young adult thrillers written by Jo MacAuley and performed in a wonderful British accent with lovely lower-class inflections by Zoe Tapley. The books are notable for their young female protagonist, a wannabe actress and spy in the late Stuart Period of England, when wars, plague, intrigue, revolution, and developments like the steam engine shook the fascinating little island.
Inferno follows Beth Johnson and her friend, John, as they try to thwart an evil plotter’s attempt to assassinate the King in 1666 London.
