Really well read with strong characters and a fantastic plot (no spoilers!). Kept me gripped all the way through. Also a really great portrayal of the lovely Kent Countryside. Can’t wait for the next one please. 😊

A cosy read that is full of intrigue, and the plot-line keeps you gripped right through to the end. The characters are engaging and well drawn, and the reader has a beautiful voice, that is completely right for the book. A most enjoyable book to listen to.

I enjoyed the story very much with lots of twists and turns. However, I found the narrator rather irritating and her over exuberance in parts was not suitable for the storyline.
I am sad to see it is still the same narrator for the next book and will probably read that on my kindle.

Good story but shame about over enthusiastic narrator

The story was decent, who doesn't like a murder set in the English countryside, but, oh dear, that narrator! Completely wrong for the main character, a 47 year old woman, and the children's voices were just unbearable. Ok for a heroine in a teen book, but her overextended vowels and breathy gasps were risable. Truly ruined it for me. I won't be listening to any more books voiced by this narrator, sorry
