The Hutchinson brothers are back! For fans of Dewey Lambdin, Patrick O'Brian, Nicholas Monsarrat, C.S. Forester and Max Hennessy.
The war in the water is intensifying…
Europe, 1941
Twin brothers Romulus and Remus Hutchinson are serving their country at sea: Rom as a sub-lieutenant in the Royal Navy and Remmie in the Merchant Navy.
Rom is aboard the HMS Southampton and quickly finds himself in the thick of it when the ship is bombed during Operation Excess in the Mediterranean.
A valiant rescue of a crewmate from the burning pilothouse brings him a visit to Buckingham Palace to receive the Distinguished Service Cross.
Remmie, meanwhile, has his own personal struggles on board the John Holt, as the ship arms itself against the threat from the skies.
Returning to the waves, Rom joins HMS Walker, set to take on the Nazi U-boat aces Otto Kretschmer and Joachim Schepke.
With both brothers in dangerous waters, a twist of fate brings them back together.
But will they both make it out in one piece…?

To learn that some of the events were based on real battles and convoys of the second world war, mixed in with some personal knowledge from the authors family was wonderful.
I love listening to audiobooks and this narrator has really got something about them.
Fantastic narration and character voices that real brought the story to life.
