When a devastating injury threatens Lex Bennet's dream of playing in the women's professional basketball league, her world is turned upside down. Despite the setback, Lex is unexpectedly drafted by the new expansion team in Boston. Her jubilation is short-lived, however, when she finds herself on the same roster as Eva Montgomery, her college rival and the woman responsible for her injury.

Once adversaries on the court, Lex and Eva must navigate their new dynamic as teammates. As they confront their past and strive to find common ground, unresolved emotions and an undeniable attraction simmer between them, becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.

For Eva, the pressure of professional sports is compounded by her struggle with coming out. Her evolving relationship with Lex—from fierce adversaries to something more complicated—adds layers of tension and uncertainty.

Can they overcome their past and build a future together? With the scrutiny of fame threatening to expose their relationship, will Eva find the courage to embrace a future with Lex? And will Lex's support be enough to guide them toward happiness?

Old rivals, new teammates—will their unresolved past lead to love or disaster?©2024 Eliza Lentzski Contemporary Literature & Fiction Romance Sports

This was really good! I’m starting to really like sports romance book and I’m seeking them out more. Quinn Riley did an amazing job as always with the audiobook. I highly recommend this book, even if you’re not a sports or basketball fan!
Written in First Person with 1x POV. Rivals/Enemies to Lovers, Sports Romance (Basketball), Workplace Romance, Long Distance Relationship, Femme/Soft Butch. 8x Spicy Scenes.

I gotta admit this book surprised me a couple times, often something would happen and id say to myself "great, here we go heres when sh- oh. nevermind that didn't happen. cool." this happened to me multiple times i swear! multiple easy, basic stroylines were available to the author to create the classic drama or over the top moments but the author just kept dodging them! While listening i realised what this book is. Its REALISTIC. Yes it takes place in the WNBA so few will ever experience it, duh, but it feels REAL. The dialogue sounds like it would be spoken. The petty drama and snide remarks from jealously don't feel forced. The attraction between Lex and Eva feels natural. My god people we have a couple here that talk to eachother openly. You read that right, they TALK! And when they let their bodies talk for them? phew! Steam levels rise high yall. For all its down to earth feeling, i never found myself bored.
Overall, this was a blast. I enjoyed the heck outta it. Oh and the narration? i mean its Quinn Riley, of course its brilliant.

A cute WNBA story with some heat

from college rivals, a bad injury, to team mates sharing rookie digs.
this enemies to lovers beautiful story seems different to others of type, the relationship quickly changes for the teams sake, but chemistry and deep feeling develop, both main characters are excellently written and totally believable, the romance has an emotional intensity, enhanced superbly in the narration.

This is a fantastic captivating storyline, exploring the world of basketball. I don't know much about the sport but I was absorbed in the dynamics of this competitive life, and this is a wild ride.
