I have a second chance to right wrongs, even if it means I’ll lose my family and life.

Sid Virgil: FBI analyst Dalton Reed’s name is on my hit list, but I know I won’t do it. Though I haven’t seen Dalton in twenty-seven years, we have a history together. He saved my life many years ago, and he doesn’t even realize it. Now, it’s my turn to save him and his young son. Saving Dalton puts my life at risk with my assassin family, but I owe it to him, and I owe it to myself.

Dalton Reed: Sid, goddamn, Virgil. I haven’t seen him in twenty-seven years, and I now find him standing between me and my escape. He insists he wants to help me, but I know he was sent to kill me. I don’t trust him. He was a bastard to me growing up as a teen, and I’m sure he’s a bastard now. He’s a killer. But I’m being hunted, and I have no choice but to let Sid help. My son is all that matters.

Can these two men see beyond their past to save Dalton before it’s too late? Can Sid’s family forgive him for his betrayal?

Reread as audiobook - an excellent narrator with clearly different voices for all characters.
Story - 4 stars. A new part of the District series, with a somewhat different feeling when compared to the first books. Lots of action and some graphic unaliving, but still lighter somehow. It was really a pity that Dalton had to lose so much faith in his FBI job, as he still felt rather innocent. Sid was an interesting character, I liked his various interactions with the others. The only thing I didn't quite like in this book was the dramatic speeches that some of the characters gave. A lovely growth of an intriguing morally grey found family.

Thank you, Courtney, for my audiobook copy of His Reluctant Savior, narrated by Harley Chase. This is the 3rd book in The District: League of Assassins series. It can be read as a standalone but you will get some big spoilers if you do.

I unapologetically love Courtney's writing and some of my all time favorite MM Romances have been penned by her. But I won't lie The District series didn't have any top spots until His Reluctant Savior.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book isn't as dark as the first two books but it's still dark. I mean the MCs are on the run and assassins are involved. This book had so many great moments which I won't share as I hate spoilers, so you'll just have to trust me and read it!

Harley Chase, bring these characters to life with his narration. Even though this was a reread for me, I kept doing jobs just so I could listen to more of His Reluctant Savior.

The third installment of The District series is less dark than its predecessors, but that just means it's dark gray instead of pitch black. Sid has always fascinated me and now I've finally learned more about his past. With Boy Scout Dalton, he finds his only ray of light in his childhood again. Needless to say, he doesn't want to let him go this time. The two find each other during a thrilling escape from power-hungry, rich and influential men and the assassins hired by them. Among the professionals is Sid's family from The District.

I love their HEA!

Wow, what a ride!

I love the audiobook even more. Harley Chase's voice helped me connect with Dalton and Owen that much more.

Very exciting
