First love's flame extinguished....

Burke Sinclair and Meredith Sutherland want nothing more than to be married, but ancient clan hostilities tear them apart. When Meredith is forced to marry another to appease her father and secure an alliance, the young lovers think all is lost.

Only to be reignited....

Ten long years of a stifling marriage nearly crushed Meredith's spirit. But when her unfeeling husband dies, and Burke, now a grown man and a hardened warrior, suddenly reappears in her life, the two may get a second chance at first love, if old blood feuds don't rip them apart once and for all.

When I want to get away from shitty reality or listen to something light, I often turn to Emma Prince. Her books have the great ingredients of "historical romances" (aka bodice rippers): brooding strong Scottish highlanders, witty and equally strong heroines, adventures and hot sexy scenes. On top of all that, the books are narrated by Tim Campbell. Perfect!

I love Emma Prince's books!

Very sweet story but a bit too short. But I wanted to buy it as I really like Burke in this trilogy of the brothers. it was even more enjoyable with Tim Campbell narrating.

very short but good

This was a lovely story but way too short, especially when I had to use a credit. It wouldn't have been a bad thing to offer this book as an included book.

A Lovely Book

Excellent novella.
Good narration by Tim Campbell as always and great mix of real & fictional characters and historical events.
Always tricky with novellas because they seem quite expensive.

Good story
