When vampire Marshal Jack Talon arrives in the Kansas frontier town of Hays City to investigate a series of mysterious deaths, he encounters a shape shifter, a pack of werewolves, and a young widow who's about to lose her ranch to an elder vampire with plans of his own. When Jack tries to intervene, the other vampire decides Hays City isn't big enough for both of them. He sets his sights on Jack, which puts both vampires on track for a head-on collision that only one can survive.
High Plains Moon has something for everyone: The old West, American Indian mythology, werewolves, vampires, land wars, and even a little romance. Funny, fast-moving, and building to a climactic finish, High Plains Moon is a worthy and satisfying second novel in the acclaimed Night Marshal series.
