I thought we'd faced the worst possible horrors already. I was wrong.

My men and I have fought the guardians who held us captive for so long. Refused to let them harness our powers yet again.

But there's another villain lurking in the shadows. One who doesn't even pretend to care about anyone's interests other than his own.

With every move he makes, I feel one step closer to breaking. How can we ever escape while a man like this controls our future?

The path to freedom could lie in the past we left behind. But our history holds secrets that are just as likely to destroy me....

Excellent escapism. Book 4 brings Riva and the guys facing their worst enemy. The emotional upheaval is easily felt in listening to the narrators and reading the words. The inability to escape their captivity. The trapped feeling is very vividly felt. The trauma the shadowbloods face is heavy and unsettling, which makes for suspenseful reading and listening. Intriguing world building. Fantastical hybrids with extraordinary powers. These books should be read/listened to in order. Highly recommended series and author. Exceptional narrators.

Heartless Foe by Eva Chase is an urban fantasy romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Adam Gold. This is the fourth book in the Shadowblood Souls series.

I am absolutely loving this series! I can't help but binge the audiobooks in one sitting. I am loving the relationship between Riva, Jacob, Zian, Andreas, Griffin and Dominic. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on another amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to jump into the final book in the series Fearsome Dream.

Amber and Adam did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this series if you're looking for an urban fantasy romances, why choose romances, or romantic suspense.
