Harry Holdsworth had never heard of his Great-Uncle George until he inherited the old man’s most cherished possession: an African Grey parrot named Madison. Harry’s first reaction was one of dismay. Who wants a big pet bird – one that could live for another 40 years?

But when Mad introduces himself in perfect American, Harry discovers he has found a friend – and more. For Mad is an ace at board games and crosswords, a fund of useful information, and even Harry’s homework improves under Mad’s tuition. Soon, the whole family are wondering what they ever did without him. Unfortunately, they are soon to be reminded!

this is one of my favourite stories...i coukd listen to it agsin and agsin even after 5 years of listening to it with the three kids. Nigel Lambert is a fantastic narrator on this and on my other favourite Fox Busters, also by DKS . Being a good narrator is such a gift not everyone has!!
