This book made me angry, cry, shout and turned my stomach but what a great story, not to be forgotten that it's real. Loved the fact the author narrates as well. Would recommend.

A marvellous listen. It gives a real insight into the gypsy life, both the good and the not so good. It is a very moving book

NEVER have I been so captivated by an audio book - his story is so shocking, sad, happy, funny and humbling. His narration is so effortlessly told you're living his every moment with him. I have NEVER been prouder of a total stranger in my life and would be an honour and a privilege to meet this man. Enthralling insight into a shut, clandestine world with both shockingly sad and tremendously happy moments. An absolute MUST read/listen.

A riveting but harrowing tale. I had tears in my eyes as I listened to Mikey's story of his life. The bullying and beatings that were dished out left me horrified and in shock.
It is amazing that each day he managed to survive and carry on and that nobody in their community had guts enough to put and end to this evil punishment.
All cudos goes to Mikey for surving this the way that he has and for writing and reading to us his story.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect there being so many portrayals good and bad about travellers or gypsies in the media. However this biographical heart wrenching and warming life story to date, took me on an emotional rollercoaster that, for me, sets the bar for all other auto/biographies to aspire.
Listening evoked every imaginable emotion, heartbreak and admiration as a direct result of a perfect narrator who could only have been this man, this author. The eloquent manner with which Mikey Walsh narrates this book was just beautiful. Timing, tone, pitch pace and volume of the narration was immaculate and truly drew me in to his kaleidoscopic tragedy scattered with scraps of joy and did his story more than justice. I have worked with children with similar experiences to Mikey and we have do more to find and rescue children living with inhumane abuse. For the purpose of this feedback I believe Mikey Walsh is equal to, if not more a man than any. He is a credit to his culture, his family and friends and most importantly to himself. I feel privileged and honoured to have listened to your story Mikey and I bow to you, your time to take applause is now.. You are collateral beauty born out of the deepest sadness
