Brought to you by Penguin.

The third novel in the gripping Will Trent series, from the Sunday Times bestselling crime and thriller author.

Now a major TV Series on Disney+

Sara Linton had moved to Atlanta hoping to leave her past behind her.

But when a severely wounded young woman is brought in to the emergency room, she finds herself drawn back into a world of violence and terror.

When Special Agent Will Trent visits the scene of the incident, he stumbles on a torture chamber buried beneath the earth.

It's clear that this woman is not the only victim of a sick, sadistic killer.

Wrestling the case away from the local police chief, Will and his partner Faith Mitchell soon find themselves at the centre of a grisly murder hunt.

Haunted by their own wounds and secrets, do Will and Faith have what it takes to stand between a madman and his next crime?

Without doubt an accomplished, compelling and complex tale, with page-turning power aplenty
Slaughter's plotting is relentless, piling on surprises and twists ... A good read that should come with a psychological health warning
Criminally spectacular
It's beautifully paced, appropriately grisly, and terrifyingly plausible. Who says there's anything peaceful and quiet about small-town America
Brilliantly chilling
Confirms her at the summit of the school of writers specialising in forensic medicine and terror
A great read ... crime fiction at its finest (Michael Connelly)
A superior, deeply satisfying thriller
A fast-paced and unsettling story ... A compelling and fluid read
The writing is lean and mean, and the climax will blow you away

I often listen to audio books just before I go to sleep; just put the ten-minute timer on and drop off. Not with this book. I found I just had to keep listening. I was deeply involved with the characters, their problems, their lives, their survival skills, their development through the story. It is Karin Slaughter's depth of character observation in this book that elevates Genesis way above the average crime drama.

Had to keep listening!

I have read quite a few books from this author and they can be relied upon to please every time. Even reading them out of order doesn't matter. The narrator was excellent too, imbuing the many voices well.

Consistently good from karin Slaughter

Loved it from start to finish. Karin Slaughter's style of writing is easy to follow, not at all contrived or misleading. Each character has their own voice and the narrator does them justice. Can't wait to listen to more.

Excellent read!
