A completely engrossing crime drama from TOP 20 BESTSELLER Owen Mullen

When a baby is stolen from a Scottish beach, private investigator Charlie Cameron reluctantly agrees to take the case.

While her parents are just yards away, thirteen-month-old Lily Hamilton is abducted from Ayr beach in Scotland. Three days later, her distraught father turns up at private investigator Charlie Cameron's office. Mark Hamilton believes he knows who has taken his daughter. And why.

Against his better judgment, Charlie takes the case—and when bodies are discovered, he suspects this may not be an isolated crime. Is there a serial killer whose work has gone undetected for decades? Is baby Lily his latest victim? Charlie won’t be able to give up on this case. Memories and guilt from his childhood won’t let him…

A cracking who did it crime novel with many twists and turns. Liking PI Charlie Cameron and as ever the narration by Angus King, now looking for next book in series.

the story was hard to follow at times. I bought the book because it was narrated by Angus king, but l felt his extraordinary narration was a bit wasted on this story. it was quite confusing at times and hard to follow, especially when listening in smaller installments, which, at this length, you inevitably have to. not my favourite listen, but made good by the narration

quite a lot going on

I actually found this series because I was searching for more books narrated by Angus King.
I wasn’t sure at first about the story or characters but before I realised it, I was half way through listening and couldn’t stop. Need to download the next book now.

Thoroughly Enjoyable

Racist and misogynistic. The writer repeatedly refers to women as "females" which epitomises his juvenile and outdated attitude towards women. This book feels like a teenage boy's fantasy with the protagonist having women throwing themselves at him for no apparent reason. Then there's the casual racism, employing cliched stereotypes, reinforced by the narrator's appallingly offensive east asian accents.
And why does the protagonist have a completely different speaking voice to his internal monologue?
Plus, there are too many storylines to keep track of what's going on.
This book is terrible and i wish I could return it.

Offensive
