Pretty average story, the injection of trauma isn’t really credible. The one narrator - the movie star - has an absolutely TERRIBLE dialect. From the sound of it, you can’t tell what it’s supposed be - Australian, maybe? - and it’s very half-hearted. Then the text says it’s supposed to be Mancunian! Shame on the producers for allowing something so amateurish to blight this otherwise completely average book.

This is a prime example of the power narrators have, their ability to make or break a book. A skilled narrator can turn a mediocre story into something more interesting with their performance or, as in this case, destroy it. The attempt at an English accent was so awful I couldn’t finish the book. Fortunately, I didn’t pay for it as it was included in the Plus Catalog. Don’t narrators have to be auditioned in some way? I guess not,

I'm assuming the narrator is doing an English accent? I wish authors, publishers and narrators would respect British listeners. I'm sure Americans won't notice how abysmal the accent is though.
