Continue to discover the dark truths of Whitby's Forgotten Victims in this gripping new thriller by bestselling British crime author Wes Markin.

No soul is quiet, yet the cry of the forgotten soul is impossible to ignore.

When the sea yields a grim discovery on Whitby's coast, DCI Frank Black hears the haunting cry of Greg Lyle - a vulnerable 13-year-old boy fascinated by sea creatures, last seen walking his beloved dog, Buddy, twenty-six years ago.

Alongside his autistic companion, DI Gerry Carver, Frank pursues this cry through a labyrinth of shattered homes, hidden identities, and religious obsessions.

In Greg, Frank recognises Gerry's vulnerability. In Simon Lyle, he sees reflections of his own failings as a father.

As buried truths surface, Frank's resolve only strengthens.

He will answer the cry of this forgotten soul.

Even if it costs him his own.

Bestselling Wes Markin is back with the start of an exciting new series, perfect for fans of David Gatward, JD Kirk, Rachel McLean, JM Dalgliesh and Simon McCleave.

Good story well told and so exciting I was in tears at times. This deals with real emotions and is as compassionate as it it compelling

This is a cracking third book in the Forgotten Victim series. The first 2 were great but this one is the best yet in my opinion. Frank Black and his rag tag team investigate the discovery of a body in Whitby Harbour. Well written and edge of the seat listening. Aubrey once again produces a 5 star performance.

Absolutely love this series, how can you not love grumpy, old school copper Frank and straight to the point Gerry? In theory the contrast between these two characters shouldn't really work but with Wes Markin's outstanding writing it is a fantastic read (or listen in this case) and the listener is drawn in to a remarkable story which brings together the past and present with such feeling parts of it literally take your breath away and Aubrey Parsons is the perfect narrator for this series. Next instalment please Mr. Markin.

Totally Unputdownable

I listened to all three in the series within the space of four weeks. To say it’s binge worthy is a massive understatement. Very quickly you fall in love with the characters. Franks willing and want to learn even if he is an old school copper, and Gerry’s want to just understand the world a little bit more. You find these too highly different characters working perfectly well together, and massively complimenting each other’s techniques of deduction. Aubrey paints the picture perfectly with the different voices, and you can truly vision These characters come to life (as a point of reference I had Frank looking very similar to Richard John riding in my head). Wes’ writing skills are sublime. You truly can’t put down these books and are compelled to find out what happened next. It’s so much bigger than a whodunnit. I really hope there is more to come from Frank and Gerry, so if you are looking for a new trilogy, where in part I genuinely gasped, these are the books for you! 10 out of 10, for the storyline, the characters, their locations, and the narration!!!

Aubrey voice captures frank perfectly!
