This title uses a narrator's voice replica

A voice replica is a computer-generated voice created by a narrator to sound like their voice.

What if the most dangerous part of a disaster was not the explosion, flood, poison, or fire—but the warnings ignored before it and the truth controlled afterward? Forbidden Secrets & Hidden Files of the World: Codex VII takes listeners inside secret military accidents, government experiments, industrial poisonings, engineering failures, transportation disasters, deadly famines, and official cover-ups that left entire communities searching for answers.

Explore the Soviet missile explosion hidden behind a false airplane-crash story, the Kyshtym nuclear evacuation, the Sverdlovsk anthrax deaths, the Banqiao dam catastrophe, the ignored warnings before Aberfan and Vajont, the poisoned workers of Hawk's Nest and Hopewell, the contaminated roads of Times Beach, the Donora smog, the Sultana disaster, and the grain exports that continued during the Great Chinese Famine.

Each chapter moves beyond the headline to reveal what officials knew, how danger was minimized, why accountability disappeared, and how hidden evidence eventually reached the public.

Perfect for listeners fascinated by declassified history, government secrets, Cold War files, corporate cover-ups, environmental contamination, industrial disasters, and unbelievable true events, Codex VII delivers gripping investigative nonfiction filled with documented facts, human consequences, and history that refuses to stay buried.

The topics and stories are a fascinating and eclectic collection of disaster and mismanagement from our history, spanning countries across the globe. However, and this is a big however, the AI "voice twin" that the narrator has chosen to use to provide instead of their own voice made me want to stop listening at times. The monotonous tone, lack of intonation and mispronunciation created by the AI made finishing the listen a chore in the end. A real shame as it spoiled what could have been a really enjoyable listen. The overall score would have been five stars if it was a real person narrating.

Some fascinating stories of disasters and cover ups from the past, spoiled by the irritating AI narrator.
