Brought to you by Penguin.

Teddy Crutcher has won Teacher of the Year at the prestigious Belmont Academy. Everyone thinks he's brilliant. Only you know the truth.

They all smile when he tells us his wife couldn't be more proud - though, if they stopped to think, they would realise no one has seen her in a while.

They're impressed when he doesn't let anything distract him - even the tragic death of a school parent. Even when the whispers start, saying it was murder.

You're sure Teddy is hiding something about what happened that day. You're sure you can prove it.

You just didn't stop to think that when it comes to catching a killer, there's no place more dangerous than just one step behind....

Really enjoyed this story, with all the twists, and different characters. The ending came as a surprise, too!

Twisted!

This is not so much a “who dunnit” story as a “somebody please do something about it” one. I couldn’t stop reading this. Brilliant thriller!

How can he get away with it?

So disappointed to find a completely predictable plot, nothing of interest, zero suspense, women characterised by their lipstick colour, set in a school community but apparently written by someone who has never met or spoken to a teenager. Agonisingly flat reading as though attempting to inject horror and suspense into a nothing plot with his voice (and failing). Complicated coincidences, nothing nuanced, just wanted to scream (in fact, did scream) in boredom. Avoid!

predictable, boring, clumsy, painfully bland
