FLAGGED FOR PRODUCTION
When Utah novelist Callen Drake uploads his debut thriller to an audiobook site, the last thing he expects is an email claiming it’s been “flagged for potential adaptation.” Within hours, he’s swept into the orbit of Elliot Reeve, a smooth-talking film executive with apparent ties to major studios and the promise of a fast-track to Hollywood.
But as the conversations grow stranger — and the requests for “good-faith investment” begin — Callen’s dream starts twisting into a nightmare. What begins as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity soon unravels into a psychological cat-and-mouse game where every message, contract, and phone call blurs the line between validation and manipulation.
When his partner Rae senses the deception tightening around them, she becomes the only voice pulling him back to reality — and toward a truth more devastating than any fiction he’s ever written.
Set against the haunting backdrop of Southern Utah’s desert light and the mirage of modern fame, Flagged for Production is a story about art, ambition, and the cost of being seen.
Because in the new Hollywood, the biggest illusion isn’t on screen — it’s in your inbox.
