I rate anthologies based on how much I enjoyed my favourite story in the collection. In this case, that favourite was 'Camp Follower'. Solid tale, intriguing, COULD be triggering (the camp in question is military, so there's some war and gore, sometimes to the extent of body horror), but it was an intriguing premise and skilfully executed. Definitely worth keeping the book for that entry alone.

4 stars for 'Camp Follower'

Labeled misleadingly this is not a full black company book but a compilation of short stories beware!
