Mabel has a relatively quiet and simple life.

Every five years there is a family gathering in her home, and the time is fast approaching.

But this year is different.

Strangers are visiting, and there is a tension in her family she hasn’t felt before.

Three beings that she has never seen before. All watching her every move.

Suddenly, passion erupts, storms are looming, and secrets kept from her are putting her life in danger.

Will she find out who she really is before her world is torn apart?

Emma Night comes once again with her octo-aliens! The steam in this one seems to dwindle a bit compared to the other two books but we get a villain for the first time. Though, in my opinion he was killed way too quickly and easily.

Only two things worked against the story: (1) I'm not entirely sure were this story fits in the timeline, and (2) In this installment it appears that only the males have tentacles but didn't the second book mention females having tentacles too? That left me so confuse since in "Dissident" there's an alien colony living in the sea by an island and in this one everyone appeared to be passing as humans.

It was okay but a bit confusing.

Loved listening to the audiobook, the story was rather interesting and intriguing how the pleasures were awarded.
The narrator was clearly spoken and easy to understand.

I really enjoyed this audio book. Tenticles where a bit strange, but hey , strange makes the world go around. I liked the the narrator didn't make different voices for the characters. She has a pleasant reading voice. The story was well written, the characters were not as strong as if hoped but still I enjoyed it. I received this advanced audio book free in exchange for an honest review
