Stranded on a hostile planet, one man finds himself thrust into a fight for survival that could decide the fate of an entire world . . .

As an engineer on the arkship Pilgrim-9, bound for the Tau Ceti solar system, Morgan Hall thought his life would revolve around maintaining and repairing the ship and supporting the needs of the five thousand colonists aboard. But when he's roused early from a 240-year stasis, he's confronted with chaos.

Along with his shipmates, Morgan is brought down to a planet teeming with peril. Forced to fight for their survival without any of their tech to hand, they must adapt quickly to overcome countless threats in a world where magic is as real as science. Eventually, they begin to create a new existence for themselves.

But just as they're beginning to feel at home, Morgan and his fellow humans discover the planet is already inhabited by intelligent life-forms—and this native species is cunning, powerful, and all too lethal . . .

I have read listen to quite a few books in this zone and the truth I wasn’t expecting much because I’ve been so disappointed. But this one was actually really really really good. The story kept moving along. The characters were engaging and I would honestly recommend giving it a go. I’m absolutely going to hunt down the next in the series.

Really enjoyed this

Firstly, don't be fooled by the blurb, this isn't sci-fi at al, but the people come from a spaceship at the start.

I won't go on and on too much. I marked it down a star as it's not the best written book I've heard, but I found the story engaging, and the main characters distinct and interesting. Enough so that I've just finished book 4 before I wrote this. The various types of magic are also well-done and quite unique in some cases.

Honestly, it's a step down from say, He who fights with Monsters, or Dungeon Crawler Carl, but it is deserving of more reads and reviews than it has so far I'd say. Well worth a credit if you are a litrpg fan.

Better than I'd expected.

The earlier parts with White star really slowed down the pacing. also more exploration on Bronwyn's mental state as she copes. it felt like she just got over her her unwillingness to let people risk their lives and be one one of the leaders.

the characters particularly Morgan and Olivia

Really enjoyable, only took a few days to listen to the whole thing. Was a little concerned at the start as it jumps to a few different characters but seems to settle into a nice tempo with a solid focus on a number of characters. Already purchased booked 2

Great start to the series
