Enough Said is Alan Bennett's fourth collection of diaries and prose. The narrator. sounds so much like A B it’s hard to tell them apart!

Really enjoyable listen. Alan Bennett as his finest. Funny, touching and topical. Hope it is not “enough Said” and he is continuing to write his diary

As wonderful as ever

Love AB’s writings and discussions but now realise so much of the enjoyment has rested on hearing his own delivery. For all that AJ captures much of AB in films and theatre, his pace here is just a smidgeon too fast and inflexions not quite there. It’s a wonderful book but (imho) better to read it and imagine AB’s dulcet tones than listen to this version.

I was slightly disappointed when I realised that AB wasn’t narrating but I needn’t have worried as I soon forgot it wasn’t him.
The twists and turns of everyday life are all there along with his wonderful ability to recall the past. I really enjoyed it and felt sad when it ended.
