Read by Hugh Fraser

A new Christie mystery combining love, death and melodrama blended together as only Agatha Christie can.

Gipsy’s Acre was a truly beautiful upland site with views out to sea – and in Michael Rogers it stirred a child-like fantasy.

There, amongst the dark fir trees, he planned to build a house, find a girl and live happily ever after.

Yet, as he left the village, a shadow of menace hung over the land. For this was the place where accidents happened. Perhaps Michael should have heeded the locals’ warnings: ‘There’s no luck for them as meddles with Gipsy’s Acre.’

Michael Rogers is a man who is about to learn the true meaning of the old saying ‘In my end is my beginning…’

Enjoyed this Christie although it is rather different from her others as it's narrated in the first person. Not a 'comfortable' listen as so many of her others are, but compelling nonetheless. I struggled a bit with Hugh Fraser's mockney accent but am glad I persevered as the final act took me totally by surprise.

A different Christie

I don’t often leave reviews but I loved reading this so much. I was gripped to the last sentence.

Stellar performance by Hugh Fraser, one of the greatest voice actors going.

Blown away by the twists

I am a big Agatha Christie fan and have read or listened to many of her books. I didn't know anything about this story, but had read that this was one of Agatha Christie's personal favourites, so thought it was worth a go.
I wasn't disappointed, this is not the usual who-done-it, there is no detective (amateur or professional)

Totally absorbing

I have read about 60 agatha christie books and this one definitely is now in my top 3! Truly sad when the book eneded.

Wish it was longer!

Loved it. Not the normal Agatha Christie crime novel but was still very good. Well worth a credit.
