For generations, the human race has feared an encounter with an alien race so advanced their technology might as well be magic. And yet, no such alien race has been encountered....

...Until now.

During the Virus War, human explorers discovered proof of alien technology that was beyond human understanding, technology so strange it was impossible even to guess at its function. Now, in the aftermath of the war, HMS Endeavour embarks on a mission to the core of the alien civilization....

...And discovers a mystery older than the human race itself.

Enjoyed the audiobook narration and good addition to the series but a pity the sequels will not get an audiobook release.

Enjoyable story but shame no audiobook for next in series.

This was a great read/listen thoroughly enjoyed the new concepts building on the last series of books. Audible wise this was my first book, the accents were faithful to the books, I really enjoyed the listen when my eyes ended a rest!

Breaking New Ground

There's always the risk after so many books that the author will run out of new ideas and start to recycle old ones, but with this book the author has shown he's going plenty of originality up his sleeve. Good plot, interesting ideas, good performance.

Strong continuation of the series

An interesting idea spoilt by just too many words - too much talk. Story extended beyond its sensible length. Not the best in this series.

Too long and too wordy.

I loved the series plot development from the set of this series of books. It has kept me engaged for weeks.

Too much back sweat and other such 'padding'
