When Trace took a bullet for his wife’s lover, his life ended...but didn’t.

By the divine promise of sacrifice, he awakened an Ash Angel with a new body, new powers, and a new war to fight. Cassandra, his temperamental trainer, tries to get him ready to battle Ghostpackers and Dreads, but it might be too little too late: for the first time in history, the Ash Angels are faltering against the fury of an evil more ancient than they are.

While he fights to survive run-ins with a Sheid-hunted pop star and a gorgeous but dangerous Dread, Trace realizes his new life cannot erase the trauma of the old. Thrust onto the front lines of a violent war with ancient ambition, Trace finds that the deadliest demons are the ones lurking in his own mind.

Gripped from start to finish, yes some parts are predictable but aren't most books. Mr Bray is the god of narrators.

Gods, demons avenging angels what is not to like.

I chose the book because of R.C Bray. I was unsure due to the potential religious undertones of the story (they do exist but it wasn't an issue). I'm really glad I went for it, I couldn't stop listening. I finished it in 3 days which for a 19hr book with zero commute time is unheard of for me. There is a lot of story here, the author could have easily split it into 2 books I'm so glad they didn't. If you aren't sure because this isn't your usual choice just got for it.

Pleasant surprise

From the very beginning I was absorbed into this audio book, following the characters through the ups and downs of an intriguing storyline. R C Bray narrates as expected with a finesse that a listener cannot ignore. This audio book should be turned into a TV series.

Better Than Expected
