Eleştirmen yorumları
"The transformation of Menolly from a terrified outcast to a woman secure within herself is skillfully handled, making her a sympathetic character with whom many readers will identify." ( School Library Journal)
"A superbly crafted fantasy in the heroic tradition....Unlike many sequels, this maintains the dramatic tensions of its predecessor." ( Horn Book)
"Although set in another world, where dragons fly and people have fire lizards as pets, Menolly's innermost concerns are wholly contemporary." ( Booklist)

I grew up reading these books, Pern is a world I have loved since I was around 11 years old (I'm 43 now) this book was written the year I was born and it's still as enthralling now as then.
I listen to this roughly once a year, the 3 books in this mini series in the Pern world. These and The White Dragon are my favourites... if you haven't read/listened to these before, do give them a go.
You may want to start with Dragonsong first though as it tells Menolly's story, although this can be listened to as a stand alone.
Sally Darling reads well, its strange to hear irish sayings or phrases read with an american accent but as Anne McCaffrey was an American living in Ireland, I doubt it matters much!
Enjoy!
one of my old time favourites

The audiobook is well read, and I cannot find fault with this version.
If only someone would tackle “The Ship Who Sang”, and the “Crystal Singer” books in their unabridged forms.
Lovely, just lovely
