I loved the dracula element and the mysterious atmosphere. And the dracula powers also stood out to me as i have good hearing also ( im not a dracula, don't worry)

A big fan of Emma Carroll. All her historical books are always a real treat and never fail to deliver a well researched adventurous story. This book did not disappoint, with an enriched Victorian gothic atmosphere, you were immediately drawn into the story and swept away with the likeable characters who you want to cheer for. Emma beautifully creates a world filled with dangerous myths and legends, while putting a new spin on the Dracula legend and explores it in a new way. It was a fantastic book. Perfect for young vampire lovers. And I am excited for book two.
However the narrator or editing of the aufiobook left a lot to be desired, The voice is very pitchy and continually puts emphasis on nearly every sentence where it's not needed. You can't tell if it is the narrator or if the editing was off. And it's no reflection on this great children's author. I do hope book two will offer a better auduobook experience.

Great book but bad narration

Loved the trio of Bella, Mina and Buffy. The world was atmospheric and enjoyable. I felt the pacing could’ve been better and wish the blurb had not gave away what took so much space as a “twist” in the book.

The most disappointing aspect of the audiobook was the narrator’s performance. I actually like the narrator in her other audiobook recordings, but the nasally youthful voice put on for this audiobook was insufferable. I wouldn’t describe it as being put on to be child friendly, if anything that feels like patronising child readers. I hope beyond hope that the narrator reads the sequel in her normal voice.
