Book 2 in a progression fantasy series perfect for fans of Dishonored, The Blacktongue Thief, The Lies of Locke Lamora, and Baldur’s Gate!

About the Series: A slow-burn progression fantasy focused on an Anti-hero MC with a code rising through the criminal underworld of a city-state using newfound powers and quick wits. MC's powers will develop slowly, but he will use them in creative ways to get ahead—and in the meantime, he'll do whatever it takes.

It's a nice story where everything has a decent conclusion in the two books and can end here but can also be continued. Something quick to listen in-between the wait for those 7+ book stories.

It's a Quick 2 book story

good book though, even if stealing names feels cheap
interesting story with potential
belivable characters and good magic

Every charcter of note is named after a character from the old classic, the count of monte cristo. why? i have no idea.

the books are well written, all of the characters feel like actual people, i recommend reading the first two books as a package, this gives you an entire arc and not just half.

just finished both first and second

Disappointing after the first book. A chance to take a deeper exploration into the human character completely spurned. Instead this is just a shallow copy of the Druid Chronicles set in different time. Pulp fiction

Shallow pulp fiction
