This is exactly why I love Sam Mariano. I went into this dark romance blind. I didn't read a summary or any trigger warnings. I was prepared and boy was this a wild ride. The meet cute for this couple is off the charts, Hallie answering her phone and he tells her to get in a car and come to him. And the fun begins. By that I mean, the obsessive, over powering Calvin. He was all in from the very start, and Hallie was not. She was not prepared for a man like him. The push pull is strong and I was loving and hating and loving these two. It's got those scenes that made me uncomfortable but I needed to know more. It's ruthless and loving all at the same time. Fabulous listen and if you love the darkness, you too will want to listen.

Daphne Fields and Bryant Walker are the story tellers for this, and it could not have been better cast. Fields is Hallie, and she voices her not having any idea what she is in for, not knowing how she should be feeling and lets her adjust and learn. Walker has that voice, the one that can do no wrong no matter how dark. Calvin is merciless yet passionate and that comes right through his voice. I enjoyed these two bring this one to life and may just go back and listen again!

This is an OG true dark romance - with dub-con, non-con elements, an unapologetic OTT, possessive, unhinged MMC, without cheating, no sharing or intimate scenes with other people! Duet style narration = flawless! Grateful we are getting more of the popular Sam Mariano's stories on audio! 🙌

I must admit at the beginning, the female Daphne Fields , kind of started to put me off, she sounded very whiny 😫 and I thought oh no this isn’t how the book 📕 is going to be is it , but I stuck with it and I’m so pleased I did , I have all of Sam Mariano books and have never been disappointed with neither of them , and she certainly never let me down with this one Daphne Fields , and Bryant Walker were well matched for this book, I am so looking 👀 forward to the next one ,I always keep an eye open just incase I’m lucky enough to find another one of your books 📕, keep it up one of your ardent fans

4.8 - 5 ⭐️, 4🌶cant really decide right now but will definitely reread this. Loved Calvin & Hallie and the spice was spicing. My kind of unhinged boyfriend. I think im inlove with Sam Mariano 😍

This is one of my favourite books and I am so happy it’s finally in audiobook. The narrators did a great job and I was so happy to listen to the story.
