I loved the first book and was really looking forward to the second. However, as others have mentioned, the constant jumping between timelines and the continual bickering between characters became increasingly irritating.

On top of that, the storyline grew so depressing that I almost wanted to pull the plug on Delio myself. If much of the arguing and moralising had been edited down, it might have worked better for me. But after 16 hours, I simply couldn’t take any more.

In the end, I wasn’t particularly concerned about whether the human race survived or not.

Was so looking forward to this...

well we'll well Mr Haward it's another fine part of a ongoing story that blows my mind and leaves me wanting. Just like all the others, The Undead is still my absolute favourite then The Exstraction series followed by Discovery and all the others that you write so perfectly. please arrange for a dark room and coffee and write bloody faster...

I was so excited for this book but the repetion of the first book, the constant jumping here there and everywhere and the ending just completely lost me.

absolutely love the story line and I really believe the author has a fantastic concept around interesting stories rgat really grip you. unfortunately many of thr characters become more annoying as you listen and childish dialogue spoils many parts of the story.

Are generally like the books from the author and this one was good but a bit repetitive. The characters are always written well and there is a good sense of humour but I think a lot more could’ve been done with the Superintelligence that got consciousness through an alien technology.
