Two girls. One dead. One disappeared. Whose side of the story will you read first? Which one is the truth? Choose for yourself in this twisty novel of psychological suspense from TikTok sensation Sandra J. Paul.

How could things have gone so wrong between Syl Jameson and Viola Harrison?

Syl and Viola are like sisters growing up in the small, stifling town of Love Hill. Though they are as different as light and dark, they connect. And for Syl, Viola’s family is a warm refuge away from the unaffectionate place that Syl calls home. But the reality is Syl can get a little needy and jealous. Viola can get a little toxic. And, like everyone in Love Hill, they have secrets. Eventually their friendship is bound to snap.

One night, it comes to a crashing end. Syl is found dead behind the wheel of Viola’s car, and Viola is nowhere to be found. Lucky for Viola, dead girls don’t talk. Or do they?

In this enthralling dual narrative, there are two sides to the story. Which girl’s version to read first is up to you. Whatever the choice, the truth will reveal itself in the end.

No matter who's side you'll read first, you will feel compassion for them and you'll find it hard to believe you'll be able to understand the other girls reasoning as well.. Both girls feelings are valid.., but when the whole truth surfaces, innocence might be deceiving.. This book's ending honestly took a moment to digest..

Dead girls may talk, but is she as much of a victim as she seems?

Downloaded as loved the idea you can choose which side of the story to listen to first and make your own idea what happened.
Sadly the content is lacking.
The two sides are so similar it gets repetitive and boring in places. The ending also feels like a let down as parts of the book make it seem like it will be a grand reveal but in actual fact it was simple and a little stupid. The characters aren’t even very likeable and a little whiney at times. For something I got for free to listen to on dog walks without using much brain power it was ok but wouldn’t recommend it any friends.

Good concept but disappointing

I like the concept but I had higher expectations. The two sides of the story are too similar, it felt repetitive. Like… if you read one side of the story, you can literally skip the other and not miss anything. The ending was disappointing, too simple and kind of boring. I had hoped for an “OMG” kind of moment when I finally got to the story of what really happened, I had been preparing myself for a big reveal that was going to blow my mind, but when I got there, my only reaction was “ohh…”

Fun concept but…

So I will preface this saying I have not finished the whole story because I couldn't get past this one part. I decided to start by reading the second Pov - Violas - first because I was excited to see how it would play out reading the non victim side first. It was all fine until chapter 11. The author should not have attempted to make a person a part of the queer community if she doesn't understand them - that whole conflict was unnecessary and could have literally been substituted as her having a crush on Steve or even the Dad. It came across as homophobic and distasteful when in one breath she was supportive but as soon as it involved her she was grossed out? Characters are more than just 1 dimensional plot devices..

Good concept bad character designs

What a story! The characters all had interesting roles to play in the story and this type of story makes me feel like this is exactly how reality would play out. People seeing things from different perspectives and not wanting to be the villian of their own story. Sly was a nice girl but you can tell there are some pieces not fitting right so it is not the whole truth but her side of the story is so emotional that you believe itbmore than Viola's side of the story. She made no attempt to hide what she did but she used excuses and tried to minimise the part she play. I cried for Lila and Sly chapaters in Sly's story. You expect how the plot went but the twist I didn't see coming was that Lila knew Sly before the events played out. I give this 5 out 5 stars for such an amazing writing, story and emotions it gave to the readers.

What a story! Spoilers alert!
