Grant Stockton is the devil incarnate. I immersive read this one, the audio is duet narration by Sean Masters and Emma Wilder and Sean does an incredible job with Daddy Grant!!

I love the push and pull between these two!

Grant is so fierce and protective over Dakota and I'm sooo here for it!!!

The tension and angst in this one is soo hot!!!

And I love the suspense woven throughout!

I’m loving this whole series. This is Grant and Dakota’s story which is told alongside the ongoing series plot of the murder of the Stockton brothers parents and their mafia business. I’ve listened to both the first and second books on audible. I have mixed feelings about this audio and almost wish I’d read this book because for me Emma Wilders voice was not how I imagined Dakota. Emma has a very distinctive voice and I found it a little distracting and off putting. Sean Masters was excellent as Grant though and overall it was still enjoyable and I cried at the end but unfortunately I did almost stop listening a few times in the beginning because I couldn’t gel with Emma’s voice.

I have to start start by saying Sean is perfectly cast as Grant, he portrayed him exactly as I imagined him. And Emma she was great as Dakota, her fire and sas were perfect.
They both brought the fire and banter between Grant and Dakota and I loved it.
I loved this book even more the second time, with audio it just came to life and some of the scenes I was looking forward to hear exceeded my expectation, I loved it.

I always love an mmc who is protective but also let’s her make her own descisions, who has a dark side but is also sweet only for those he loves and that is exactly what Grant is and I loved him for it. Dakota doesn’t take sh*t from him and is just as protective of him as he is of her. I loved their dynamic, banter and their texts.

Devoured the first book in the series and loved absolutely everything about it, a total joy to listen to. This one is another great book for plot and spiciness and Sean Masters was superb. Unfortunately the narration by Emma Wilder grated on my every nerve to the point it almost ruined the whole book for me. Her voices for the other female characters was fine but Dakota was too high pitched and the description parts sounded like a version of a computer-generated voice which I struggled to get passed.
