When I answered an ad for a caretaker at Saint Mark’s Sanctuary, I thought I’d be dusting chandeliers and polishing floors. I didn’t expect to be tricked into a curse, going into debt to a monster, and being forced to take a self-paced “let’s learn magic” course so I can fix a 2,000-year-old problem.

And that monster? Not your ordinary, everyday beast. He has hooves, and horns, and fur on his legs. But you know where he doesn’t have fur? Yeah. There. Which is fine. Except he doesn’t wear pants.

Nothing at Saint Mark’s is exactly what it seems. The entire inside is magic, the hallways upstairs are nothing but parties from the past, and the super-hot guy who lives in the dungeon? Yeah. Not human.

My name is Pie, and all I want is to be a normal girl with an average life. I refuse to get stuck in this curse. I refuse to learn magic to break it. And there is no way in hell I will fall in love with a monster. Famous. Last. Words.

Pleasantly Surprised!!! I thought it was fun, well thought out world of monsters. Im looking for more!!!!

I re-listened to this today as I have just bought book 2 and I wanted it fresh in my mind again. it's probably only a year or so since I devoured it the first time but I've listened to nearly 700 books since Dec.2019 so there's alot of stories revolving around in my little head.

So glad I revisited this great book. Narration is SPOT ON!*!*!*!* and the world building by Julie is quite captivating. So different from her contemporary set novels.....I've listened to nearly all of them too.

I'm quite in love with the characters and feel so happy there are two books to go.....starting book two in 3...2...1....💘

I loved this. You are best letting this story wash over you and go along with where this takes you. Is she crazy? Is she real?

Honestly, loved everything about this, and the narrators are just so great in their roles. Now to listen to book 2.

l loved this one. crazy story with monsters
I'm not sure what spoke to me in this one. But it was so fun not loads of spice, but sometimes you don't need a lot. I really looked the relationship between the three characters. Thn pelts and pie's story so good. This one was free so even better. loved the voices of the narrators, brilliant. Next one hopefully Thomas gets his own love interest. Poor monster he's only been kissed once. ooh

Very different, loved the twists and turns - did not see anything coming, can’t wait for the next one !! Would definitely recommend
