A Celestian Sacresant Aveline Audiobook

The Imperium burns in the face of Abaddon’s Thirteenth Black Crusade, bringing with it the damnation of entire sectors and countless worlds. As the Despoiler’s malevolent gaze turns to Cadia, the sacred warhost of the Adepta Sororitas prepares itself for the greatest battle in generations.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Follow a Celestian Sacresant as a straightforward mission turns very complicated! Can she track down a traitorous psyker AND defeat an ancient evil on a seemingly innocuous shrine world, or will she fall in glory?

THE STORY

Celestian Sacresant Aveline, of the Order of the Sacred Rose, has a final, sacred duty to perform before joining the battle for Cadia – securing Orison VIII, a minor shrine world in the Cadian Gate.

But when a simple mission to hunt down a Chaos sorcerer becomes a deadly game of cat and mouse, an ancient evil is uncovered – an evil that knows her name. Should Aveline be unsuccessful in defeating this new threat, Holy Terra itself will pay for her failure in blood.

The production edits to certain voices, completes this extremely well written and fantastically performed book.

Produced like all 40K books should be

overall the book is well written and superbly performed, however there are loose ends to the ending, but the main one is, what becomes of the novitiate, is her stasis chamber found? does she survive to continue to serve the Emperor? I think a follow up book is needed to answer the questions left unanswered by this ending.

well written but incomplete ending

It seems she is almost written to be unlikable on purpose to the point that towards the end I was wishing she would end up dying and novitiate Gwynith would assume her identity. Aveline definitely doesn't deserve the super special sword.

Narration was wonderful but overall I'm underwhelmed and a little disappointed.

Aveline is supremely unlikable

The story has a few pacing issues, but overall it’s an engaging and compelling tale of growth and courage. I found all the characters likable in their own Adepta Sororitas way—balancing genuine kindness with a refreshingly blunt edge. The narrator was excellent, and I hope to hear her in future Sisters-focused books.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and would recommend it to any fan of the Sisters. And of course—glory to the Order of the Sacred Rose!

As a Adepta Sororitas fan, I liked it.
