A beautiful young social-media star goes missing.

But who took her?

When controversial internet celebrity Violet Armstrong vanishes in the middle of a scorching Peak District summer, the case sparks a media frenzy.

The clock is ticking for DI Meg Dalton and her team to find Violet before online threats explode into real-life violence. And then the blood and hair of a young woman are found in an empty pig trough at the local abattoir…

The more Meg finds out about this unnerving case, the more she becomes convinced that something very, very bad has happened to Violet. With temperatures rising and the press demanding answers, the case is about to take a terrifying turn…

In bestselling author Roz Watkins’ chilling new thriller, DI Meg Dalton must face her most disturbing case yet. Perfect for fans of Ann Cleeves, Susie Steiner and Val McDermid.

Really intriguing plot and engaging characters. My preference was to play at 1.2x original speed as narrator a bit slow for me!

As always Roz has not disappointed with this book. I have found it so compelling as the story went from strength to strength. Definitely a page turner and I can’t wait for the next Meg Dalton book as they are all excellent.

Another brilliant book by Roz Watkins

I nearly didn’t carry on listening as I was not a fan of the narrator but that was my personal view.
The book was ok, I wanted to know what happened in the end but rather a full on hardly believable ending but still worth a listen if you like detective stories

Reasonable detective story

For the first time ever in an audiobook, I had to listen on slight fast forward because some of the dialogue was SO slow that it was painful!
