DI Zoe Finch has a new job. New house, new boss, and new team too.

She's been persuaded to move from Birmingham to Cumbria, to head up a team investigating some of the county's most complex crimes.

But it isn't easy. Adjusting to rural life, not to mention navigating the politics of Cumbria Police, will be a challenge. And she's not sure who she can trust.

And then, her work becomes linked to that of her partner Carl, whose job it is to chase down bent coppers.

Zoe's been here before. In Birmingham, she uncovered corruption at the highest levels, and there were rumours she might be corrupt herself.

Can Zoe escape the taint of association for a second time, and bring the criminals to justice?

Nice and easy to listen to. Cheap as you get four for the price of one.

Easy listening

I disliked the narration intensely. The Nina characters voice drove me mad..grating, loud, immature and irritating-made me think of, “ The KeystoneCops” every time a new chapter entered a scene with her LOUD voice dominating the narrative. I think I’d have preferred to read this author’s work and made my own mental images of characters. An OK listen.

Different narrator would have been preferable.

I'm new to this author and feel as if I know the characters. Plots cleverly unfolding in book after book yet each book had its own satisfyingly conclusion. Great read.

I'm hooked on Rachel McLean books.

Books are okay but very hard to listen to. Especially the word Chapter! Nina is surely not a child but that is what she sounded like.

Worst narrator
