When Quintin Ruiz’s classmate invites him down to Dreamwood Isle for the weekend, the last thing he wanted was to capture the attention of the beach town’s infamous “Heart Crusher” Adrian Tyler.

Pretty boys with eight-pack abs aren’t Quintin’s type. Besides, as an art student, Quintin is here for a different purpose: to find the inspiration that will save him from being kicked out of the arts program.

Meanwhile, Adrian is tired of only being seen as a “pretty muscle boy” with a bad reputation for having new arm candy every weekend. There's more to island life than just beach bods and temptations, isn't there?

So when he crashes into art student Quintin, who instantly friend-zones him, Adrian is left feeling relieved.

And also very, very confused.

Especially when the two grow closer and share each other's dreams, and what starts as an innocent, unlikely friendship ignites into something deeper—something neither of them can deny.

Can Adrian and Quinton really continue to resist each other?

From USA Today best-selling author Daryl Banner comes a steamy beach town opposites-attract romance with a surprise ending that will steal your heart.

I found myself transported to the enchanting Dreamwood Isle. Quintin, the sensitive art student, and Adrian, the charismatic "Heart Crusher," come alive in this story of unexpected love and self-discovery. Narrated by the author himself, the tale unfolds with genuine emotion and depth. Quintin's artistic passion and Adrian's longing for real connections resonate profoundly, making their romance truly heartwarming. The vivid beach town backdrop and well-developed characters drew me in completely. As their relationship blossomed, I felt every nuance of their journey, from the initial sparks to the depths of their connection. Banner's storytelling prowess shines through, leaving me eagerly anticipating the next installment in this series. This is a must-listen, a delightful blend of introspection, romance, and the magic of Dreamwood Isle.

Reading a Daryl Banner book is like being snuggled up in a warm blanket- having him narrate his story was amazing. I think he did an awesome job - I loved his voices for both characters. I read the book a while ago and loved the story.

I loved this one!

I know this story is part of the Spruce storyline, and I'm a huge fan of Daryl's work; Spruce, Texas is a favourite of everyone. Yet, unfortunately, the narration of this story was monotonous, without any expression. The storyline lacked spice and excitement; my ears could take no more. I am sorry. I wanted to love this, but I simply could not get into it."
