Özet

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Broken trust. Shattered hearts. Secrets exposed—and yet still no closer to the truth. When Malcolm and Seong-Jae's relationship hits a wall, their partnership fragments as well . . . and they may not be able to withstand the crushing tide when protests over Tomasz Kowalczyk's death turn into deadly riots. Too many familiar faces return, and one will be leaving in a body bag.

But for the puppet master guiding their every move, the chaos that descends on Baltimore is the perfect opportunity to capture his mark.

And when Sila sets his eyes on Malcolm . . . Malcolm will discover that nowhere is safe. There's no one he can trust.

And no one to save him from the man who taught Seong-Jae to love through pain. Through suffering. Through hatred. Through lies.

Through betrayal, when nothing and no one are what they seem.

Contains mature themes.

This series just keeps getting better and better. The book has interesting characters and a very surprising ending. Can't wait to read the next book.

Great book

This is tough. Seong-Jae is a mess and has retreated from a bewildered Mal, refusing to talk about what's going on and desperately trying to distance himself. That these two love each other deeply and to distraction is never in question - and honestly, I could have smacked Seong-Jae for failing to trust in Malcolm's love for him, BUT there are some deeply ingrained fears, almost a conditioning, motivating Seong-Jae to act as he does. But hearing them so at odds is painful.

The plot is interesting - the city is on a knife edge as anti-police protests ramp up and Anjalie is trying to keep a lid on it all after a young man is trampled to death.

And then that cliffie... gah!

Terrific narration from Curt Bonnem once again.

Short but intense - 4.5 stars
