I thoroughly enjoyed this book! This is my first review, for my favourite book so far. I flew through it and didn't want it to finish. I always prefer a book to be narrated by the author and Rosie did a stellar job of her book. Bipolar 1 was explained so personally by Rosie and succinctly. It was both relentlessly painful and humourous too. It led me to watch her documentary, and pursue the books that she recommended, of which she read whilst exploring her bipolar. It was fortunate that Rosie had such a supportive family and friends throughout her diagnosis and bipolar episodes. Along with excellent mental health care. Although Rosie has to manage her extreme fluctuating rollercoaster episodes, she has managed to gain a good understanding of her condition. All in all a fascinating account, and very educational. Thank you Rosie!

The best personal account of bipolar 1!

Seems very self indulgent and the author very entitled- stopped listening after she started being patronising about the staff who tried to help her and criticised said nurses ability to do her job.

Not sure

What a heartwarming account given by Lucy. Extremely eloquently written what a skill to have and also the desire to reach out and help other people who would recommend this book even if you only read it for information or a few suffer from some of the symptoms.

Bravery to speak openly

I absolutely loved this book. It’s such an open, honest and incredibly moving account of living with Bipolar .

Rosie describes the whole experience so vividly, not just what was happening to her, but what it actually felt like in her mind, her body and emotionally. She somehow manages to put into words the changes she experiences, through both the good times and the incredibly dark ones, in a way that really stayed with me.

I laughed with her and I cried with her. At times it was funny, at times heartbreaking, but it always felt incredibly human.

I work on a female acute psychiatric ward, and reading this has given me an even deeper insight into what someone may be experiencing behind what we see from the outside. I genuinely think this could be such a valuable book for some of the women I work with too, and for anyone living with bipolar who might recognise parts of their own experience in Rosie’s words. There is something powerful about reading someone else describe experiences and emotions that might be incredibly difficult to put into words yourself.

An amazing book. ❤️
