Chilled is the second book in Bone Secrets, the multimillion-copy bestselling series.

As a forensic nurse on a search and rescue team, Brynn Nealey braves a dangerous blizzard to find the survivors of a plane crash in the Cascade Mountains. Joining her is Alex Kinton, a former US Marshal with self-destructive tendencies. Alex lies his way onto Brynn’s team to find the man who killed his brother - and then return the favor. But once the team members reach the plane’s wreckage, they discover everyone aboard has perished...except for the man Alex is hunting. Alex will do whatever it takes to track his target through the vast, snowy wilderness.

As the temperatures drop, however, so do Alex’s defenses. His contact with the sharp, kindhearted Brynn makes his lust for vengeance difficult to reconcile with his growing feelings for a woman who risks her life to help others. What will happen to Alex’s savage instincts when he finally has the opportunity to confront his brother’s killer?

In Chilled, the next thrilling tale in the Bone Secrets saga, Golden Heart finalist Kendra Elliot weaves an icy tale of cold nights, cold hearts, and cold-blooded killers.

So whilst this may not seem like an obvious addition to the Bone Secrets series because there are no bones or remains, Alex appears in the support cast of book 1 as a quiet, withdrawn and broken character who has you intrigued as Lacey describes the shadows in his eyes and the demons very obviously riding his back! He is one of Jack's closest friends and here we get every bit of his broken soul, laid out for judgement and for the vultures to finish picking over, the guilt that is crushing him on a daily basis is heartbreaking, leaving him haunted and a shell of the man he was. But he hasn't lost his determination and through those shadows and demons we get glimpses of the man he was, the man he could once again be if he can finally forgive himself.
A very twisted and chilling tale, we have a serial killer with nothing to lose, corruption somewhere within the agency, a vile reporter who thinks she is untouchable and will stop at nothing to get a story and a broken man who has lost everything but finds a new team, a new reason to fight, someone to fight for and for the first time in years, hope for the future.
I listened to this on Audible with Kindle Unlimited.

I am so glad we get Alex's story

Too many characters; I found it difficult to follow the story. I gave up at chapter 5 as I kept 're-reading and rewinding as I was getting lost. It's too constipated and long winded.

Long winded
