Burdizzo Book's Matty-Bob and Em invited some of their favourite indie authors to write stories inspired by their most beloved songs. The result is The Burdizzo Mix-Tape Vol.1, their most diverse anthology yet.

These are tunes that resonate from the beach to the mountains, from rain dogs to spirits in the sky, from Old Ones to cold ones. Be it multi-dimensional romance across space and time, Cold War sexual paranoia, campfire cowboys, gypsy caravans, or demented disco balls, there is a song for everyone within these stories.

If music be the food of love, listen on.

There were three reasons I wanted to read this book. One of them was two of my favourite authors were involved, I like the idea of songs being part of the stories and the third was a Facebook post about a family tragedy that had happened So bye buying this book. I had the knowledge that I was helping and that my donation would also help.

There were a few authors in this that I recognise the name but I'd never read anything from them before so I was intrigued to have a taster of various works and just how these songs would be linked into the story of their choosing. I enjoyed all these stories and there's such a variety it was quite an interesting read.

An awesome mixtape of stories
