In a small town in Illinois during the Great Depression, five-year-old Richard receives an assignment that will change his life: learn everything about baseball and report each Cardinals game to his father, who can no longer follow them himself. This mission becomes more than just a pastime, it becomes a sacred duty and the foundation of Richard’s identity. Through box scores, radio broadcasts, and neighborhood games, Richard grows up with a bat in one hand and a scorecard in the other.
Built on Baseball is not just a story about baseball. It is based on a true story about faith, resilience, and love. It is about the dreams we chase, the sacrifices we make, and the legacies we leave behind. Some men are remembered for the games they played. In this story Richard, is remembered for the lives he touched, the values he instilled, and the game that lasted a lifetime.
