BY AUSTRALIAN AUTHOR CASSANDRA DOON, COMES A SWEET AND STEAMY COWBOY ROMANCE THAT IS HARD TO PUT DOWN.

When grief leaves you with nothing but a bank account full of money and a crumpled list of fears written by your nineteen-year-old self, sometimes the only choice is to drive across the country and see what the hell you're made of.

Alina Hargraves has lost everything. Armed with 8.9 million dollars she never wanted and a "fear list" that seemed brave at nineteen but feels impossible at twenty-eight, she finds herself at Broken Creek Ranch. What was supposed to be a four-week stay to help a small-town bartender land her dream date becomes something else entirely when Alina meets Jeremy.

Jeremy O'Connelly is a former soldier trying to piece his life back together one day at a time. The ranch saved him once, pulled him from a ditch as a twelve-year-old, and gave him a family. Now he's home from Afghanistan, wrestling with demons that don't care if he's surrounded by people who love him. He's good with broken horses and bad with broken fences, and he definitely wasn't expecting a city girl with sad eyes and a smart mouth to turn his carefully controlled world upside down.

But Alina isn't really a city girl, and Jeremy isn't as broken as he thinks. When a woman who's forgotten how to trust meets a man who's forgotten how to hope, they might just find that some things are worth fighting for, even when fighting means learning to let someone stay.

Some fears are meant to be conquered. Others are meant to teach you that the scariest thing isn't falling, it’s finally finding someone worth landing for.

A story about second chances, found family, and the kind of love that heals from the inside out.

Broken Creek Ranch is a standalone book based in Cedar Creek. It focuses on Jeremy and Alinas Love story.

If you’re in your cowboy romance era, this will fill that void for you.

Fairly reminiscent of Elsie Silver‘s books in many ways, but I appreciate that there is no single dad trope and no pregnancy as well.

It’s a good interesting cowboy Romance story.

I like that it was told in a dual point of view with a male and female voice but I wish that the male voice would have actually read all of the male parts and not had the female tried to voice the male parts. There was something about her attempted sounding masculine that just made it not work at all for me.

This is an absolutely beautiful love story between 2 emotionally broken people, who happen to meet at the right time, that are able to help the other rebuild. As always Cassandra's characters are well rounded and believable and her scene setting is outstanding. Add to this great narrators and you feel like you are right there at Broken Creek Ranch with them.

Brilliant narration from Everly Woods and Samuel Randy

When her mum dies Alina sells her old home, but before she does she finds a list that she wrote at nineteen. Making the decision to travel across the country. She finds herself in a B&B in a small town.
Jeremy is struggling with PTSD since he has returned from the military. This man has a heart to large. His start in life was hard until he was adoptive, a family that should him love and kindness. Both characters feel loss and struggle. Jeremy believes he is too broken to find love.
I found myself crying, wanting our characters to find each other and peace in each others arms.

This is so good. Loved the secret relationship that they didn’t know was going on. Utterly predictable but so so so good. I loved the characters, it was obvious that she was the writer who was helping him. Such a kismet. Loved it.
