If asked to list all the folks in Darling, Montana I can’t stand, I’d have a single name.

Noah King.

He’s the second-best farrier in town (me being the first). A royal pain in my behind. And an all-around smug pest I wouldn’t mind knocking down a peg or two.

I love Noah and Colton story!! A enemies to lovers romance with so much banter, these two are so perfect with they get together! Kale Williams did an amazing job narrating this book! Highly recommend it!

however this guy did an absolute stellar job and his voice fit both characters so well. Just gave this fab story a level up is all I can say. Definitely worth listening to in audio.

Book 2 in the Darling Brothers series gives us Colton Darling and his rival/enemy Noah. Both men are in their late 30s and have spent the last 15 years trying to outdo and one up the other in their careers as they are the only two Farriers in their small community. This is a double Bi-awakening and there is some great tension between these two throughout and not because either of them struggles with their new found attraction towards the same sex but because they genuinely haven't liked each other for years so that was refreshing to read.

Brim Over Boot delivers on the rivals/hate to love vibes but I wouldn't class it as a true enemies to lovers personally... but alot of books that claim to be that trope these days aren't so here we are. And the context for WHY these two hated each other was missing for most of the book as we weren't clued in till quite late which left me feeling not fully invested in their rivalry because I didn't understand it and therefore at times they both came across petty and childish. It gives good banter, sexual tension, slow burn vibes and the spice is great when it happens. Colton & Noah are both grumpy slightly alpha-ish characters but their dynamic shifts during intimate moments and i was here for it! The setting and cast of side characters was again great and I liked all of the Darling brothers and their parents cameos in this story.

Kale Williams is back narrating the second installment of this series and I enjoyed his performance as much as I did in book 1. He differs his voice just enough for you to distinguish between the two male leads and each character had their own personalities shine through. Overall I thouroughly enjoyed this listen and am very much looking forward to the third book releasing in the future. 🌶🌶🌶

new author for me - i loved the first book in this series, but this was another level! Looooved it - characters, storyline, just perfect♥️🤍✨ Oh and this was HOT too😅 separate note on narrator - what a superstar! Characters did sound different - he managed to give everyone a distinct voice, intonation, pacing - stellar job! I will definitely want to listen to more of his books. One of my fav voices now!

These are fantastic books, I loved how the story lines intertwine with each other. They’re funny and sometimes sad a real joy to listen too.
